Brix Group Orchard Project:

Paengaroa Vertical Shelter

Project Details:

This Bay of Plenty orchard required a reliable shelter solution to manage wind exposure and protect the crop throughout the growing season. With the site exposed to prevailing winds, the grower needed a system that would provide consistent protection without disrupting orchard operations. Timing was critical, with installation needing to be completed before the season to ensure the orchard was fully protected from day one.

Brix Group delivered 1,500 metres of vertical shelter, installed with precision to suit the site conditions and orchard layout. The system was completed on time and on budget, using our fully adjustable tension system to allow ongoing fine tuning as conditions change. The ability for our vertical shelter systems to be tensioned and serviced each season alleviates the possibility of the shelter tearing in a wind event. The orchard now benefits from year round wind protection, improved growing conditions, and infrastructure that is built for long-term performance. The result is greater certainty for the grower and a shelter system that supports consistent production season after season.
